It’s been just about two years now, but I don’t think a week goes by I don’t think about Div. I don’t intend to claim I was the closest friend in the world back then, but when I knew them they were a genuinely uplifting spirit and extremely supportive, talented, and especially kind. I enjoyed all the art they did for my characters and I wish I hadn’t lost some of it due to a bunch of the old personal stuff happening. The ones I have are treasure to me, and I still look up to the way they did their artwork. I thank you for everything you’ve given me, Divide. I wish I could be more like you were. Although, I mainly wish you were still here.

I really do just wish they could’ve had far more time. I know they wanted to do so much more, and it really does just make me angry sometimes they never got to. They told me in the weeks we were working together how they wanted to do other projects and get invested in doing animation, and now I just try to hold onto what I can. I hope they’re in a good place now, and I know for certain their memory will be intact with their friends and family. Rest in peace.

since it’s out of my hands now, i’ll explain what genesγs was from its starting point in 2020.

(some of this might or might not be retconned)

• genesγs was never, and still isn’t, an exe. it was made before the craze started (albeit BRIEFLY before the craze started), and is older than even Faker. i wanted it to be a creepypasta of its own with inspiration from the vinesauce corruption.
• its name is not spelled with a y, but rather a gamma symbol.
• it initially was a zalgo-like code entity that would plaster its grim smile and sunken eyes across various videogames and not do anything life threatening, but rather fry the computer of the individual it invades after the individual played the impossible variation of the game it currently invaded. after some time i shortly dropped this idea and just made it a Sonic thing.
• the story took place over the course of green hill zone and marble zone, but the zones’ assets would feature quite a few corrupted assets with that blocky texturing but a strange black root texture accompanying said visuals.
• badniks are slower, but attacking them causes the animals inside to have hit-boxes, and constantly leap around the stage. they would be highly dangerous, making attacking enemies a hazard.
• eggman himself would be the entity’s main vector, having buffed up or unfair variations of the two boss fights.
• after beating the green hill wrecking ball fight, the explosions to the eggmobile cause eggman to have a charred, burnt sprite that stays persistent into marble zone.
• sonic’s burning death being a result of the fire eggmobile boss’s fireballs never despawning, causing sonic to constantly take damage and then subsequently burn to death.
• the game would have ended just frozen on the sonic has passed screen after sonic died, instead of saying “game over”. the game would remove itself from the computer and take the computer’s memory with it (yes this was the idea in 2020).

if anyone has additional questions about the old version, i am obliged to answer.

EXE is not dead. But it will take me a while to get him right. There is a lot on the cutting room floor currently, and some things still in drafts, but a lot already done. I don't want to promise or deny anything, but as long as I'm still here I am going to continue working on his overarching story, worldbuilding and ideas. A healthy amount of plot beats are set, but I will not be disclosing it.

I will say, I have plans for this to be a set of stories. Whatever media or medium they come in will be determined only with time, but one I can confirm is a comic. I am still in the process of writing and mapping said story, however. Again, a lot of the key moments and ideas are written and locked in, so this is not something being done from scratch.

What I can also currently give is a proper, final reference for EXE and his faker form. This is not subject to change, but the sprites attached might be. Feedback on the sprites is appreciated by any means. I want to shoot to realign him with my original vision, a reinterpretation of 2017 sonic.exe, and a feral monster. There was a lot of dawdling done in the past, and for that, I apologize. I want to put my best into this character a fair amount of people have come to care for, and a character I still very much cherish.

Once more, I will NOT confirm or deny story stuff that wasn't already public, but allow me to rectify any character misconceptions in the replies. Thank you all.

Small Things I will say (notes may be added here from time to time):

-EXE's game/story is titled Sonic Prototype 2017.

-He is incapable of human/English speech again, or rather can only speak in very specific circumstances I will not get into.

-The Black Sun is still an object of importance, but no, it’s not the source of his power. It doesn’t nullify shit either, I don’t know where people got that idea. EXE’s strength is without assistance.

-EXE's game does NOT take place in a Sonic ROM. It's just a ground-up Sonic Game, the ROM thing was a misconception meant to say his game passes itself off as just a ROM.

-He does NOT have a version of the cult, do not follow the wiki's info on that.

-More info regarding the Harbingers will come out eventually.

-And lastly, be wary that things established may or may not stick. I have everything in mind but I have simply not found my way to put it out yet.

NOTE: this is far, FAR from being the final spritesheet. I wanted to give a small taste of his look before I settle on anything. Again, feedback is appreciated.

This should've been something obvious from the start but, please refrain from drawing or using my old sonas. That's a part of my life I'd rather not have associated with me nor have people keep in mind whenever I'm brought up. Not just because of events but none of those designs I feel even close to comfortable representing me.

I know I can't stop the groups altogether who do this for kicks, but at the same time common basic respect is something I wish to regain. That being said, I know this will cause media to be made just because people find it funny to contrast, and there's nothing I can really do to stop that. Point is to be said, people still ought to know and recognize I'm not at all comfortable with it.

That leads into my second point, as being oblivious to common sense is a running theme: The sexualization or fetishization (genderbending and oversexualizing, fat fetish) around any creation of mine is something I detain and despise, ESPECIALLY FAKER/EXE.

I don't care the context, even if it's disguised as "irony”. It's disappointing and deplorable. All I ask is that you refrain from doing this shit altogether. 

Bottom line is, stop saving and archiving, drawing and depicting, all this shit of my dead sonas or weird fetish shit with my characters. It’s creepy and repulsive. End of story.
